Tedium

Today was another day of very little activity. This was partly because of my ever healing gout and partly because it didn’t really stop raining during the daylight hours. Naturally Emma was not happy about this state of affairs. But then, Emma hasn’t been happy having Bob sit in her chair every day for the last week.

I didn’t have to shop, having doubled up yesterday, so it was a case of entering more Blackheath survivors on the Surrey in the Great War database, writing in my blog and preparing the occasional meal. All very ho hum, I’m afraid.

Mirinda was still not her best but whatever bug has decided to lay her low is slowly being eradicated. Bob said he was almost at 100%, which is good.

Bob left at 4pm with Carol, heading for his plane home. I think he’s probably very happy about that. It has been a decidedly odd fortnight for him. What with unexplained injuries, a severe cold and particularly grime weather, it’s hardly been joyful.

Apart from the graduation, of course. I guess that was the real reason for his coming so, in a way, all was well.

Another job I completed today was the preparation and ordering of the calendars. I usually get them done and dusted by the end of November but this year it’s been a bit difficult (to say the least). I fear they will not arrive before Christmas.

Not that that is a problem. It seems to me the majority of them sit in drawers gathering dust until the next major clean out. I wonder sometimes whether it’s really worth the environmental cost producing and posting so many.

Anyway, the day drew in and we sat down to dinner before watching a couple of episodes of Star Trek: Voyager before Mirinda hauled herself off to bed.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit more exciting.
