There was an unexpected pheasant in the front garden today. It was under a bird feeder, collecting the fallen seed from the ground. As it fed, a couple of jays watched from a few feet away. It was all a bit curious and, fortunately, unseen by the girls. Given how Freya isn’t really that keen on big birds, she may have gone off.
I was a bit far away for a decent photo. This was the best I could manage.

It made for some little excitement in my day. Mind you, we had a bit on our walk as well.
On reaching Mount Trosa, we commenced our climb. Another walker, one without dogs, was puffing down so we took the alternate track which meant I could keep the girls off lead. When we reached the halfway point, the lone walker passed us on his way back up.
Then, from over the top, there appeared a group of four: Mum, dad and two little kids. They were starting down. I was considering whether to continue walking the alternate track, depending on which one they took, when I realised that the dad was holding a lead which was connected to a very big dog.
I looked at the girls then looked back at the big dog. I decided, rather than hook them up, we’d take the track around the mountain. While, normally, I’d put them on the lead, walking up the steep Mount Trosa would be difficult with my walking issues. So, today, I only managed half the climb.
Today’s view, therefore, is from a managed section of the main walking/jogging/shuffling path.

Back at the house, I spent a goodly amount of time moving a few bits and pieces of building material from the stuga to the newly refurbished shed. They were leftover from the deck and the new floor in the green room. Normally, the girls would help by walking back and forth with me but they misbehaved so I shut them in the glassroom where they watched sorrowfully, hopefully learning their lesson to not run off.
Possibly the most important thing I did today was to record my Letter from Sweden.
It’s a week early, but last week, I had an email from Charles saying he was going away to the Caribbean next week and could I record and send it by today. So, here it is:
As usual, Freya was asleep behind me, on my chair. I don’t think you can hear her snoring.
While, in the UK, Mirinda spent the day exploring Romford. Tomorrow she heads for Bath.
