Library day 5

The Polish carpenter working on our library worked very hard today. Firstly he was on his own (I don’t know why the very smiley guy didn’t help) and secondly he wanted to finish today. And, take it from me, he didn’t stop. He arrived at 8am and didn’t leave until 5pm. And I don’t even think he had lunch.

But he did finish…well, he finished all he could finish. There’s no handles yet and the slate to line the wood boxes has yet to be decided. Also the mantelpiece is missing. Still, what he did finish looks fantastic.

I put a few books in the shelves to see what it looked like and it looks fantastic. I hope Mirinda is as enthused as I am.

As for me and the girls…we were stuck in the house for most of the day because of the typical summer rain that refused to let up outside. It gave me a chance to catch up on the washing after last week but, basically, that was it.
