There was another big thing that happened yesterday. I left it out because the post was in danger of growing far too big.
About a month ago, we went to Guildford and bought a new bed and mattress. The guy convinced us to part with a considerable amount of money in order to invest in the best mattress in the world. Mirinda had given it a bit of lay down test and said she was satisfied with the comfort levels.
Well, yesterday was the day of delivery and construction. Two chaps turned up at about 10am and went to work.
These guys must be paid for the amount of jobs they do because they did everything at a run. An amazing sight. Two big, burly guys running up and down our stairs, with bits of bed and then a massive mattress.
Anyway, it didn’t take very long and we soon had a wonderful new bed and mattress, the old one being bundled into their truck for some sort of sympathetic disposal.
A little while later, they returned to give us the mattress protector which we’d also bought but they’d forgotten to deliver.
Having now slept on it, I have to say, it’s the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept on. Although it’s only a queen size, you can’t feel anything as all movement is absorbed by the mattress. It’s like sleeping on a cloud…well, except for the falling through it and plummeting to the ground, thing.
Money well spent, I’d say. And, thankfully, Mirinda agrees.
In visitor news…Mirinda took Bob for a tramp over Hankley after lunch and he loved it. They also stopped off at Tilford for a drink in the Barley Mow. And, with great good fortune, there was a game of cricket on the Tilford green – always a pleasure.
Bob came round for dinner (I made Tuscan veal and mushroom stew) before wandering back to the Bush.
I thought you said your bed out here was the best, shame you couldn’t go for a tramp with them.
