It’s been six weeks since I dropped the poodles off at the kennel, the longest they’ve been left. I have missed them a LOT! And today I went to pick them up.
The kennel we use allows prospective customers to come and view the accommodation before committing to boarding their animals. As I arrived, the owner was showing an older couple around who seemed to be happy about the place (as they should).
After paying the horrendously huge bill, the owner went to collect them. They bounced all around her as she let them out of their holiday home. Well, they did until they saw me. Carmen noticed first and came running at top speed, followed quickly by a confused Day-z. They were stopped by the closed gate but continued bouncing around while the woman tried to put their lead on (I think she should have done that BEFORE she let them out).
Eventually they were jumping all over me, tails wagging, bodies shaking with joy. Behind me, the couple had been watching it all and now said “That just about sums it up, doesn’t it.” I’m pretty sure they meant it indicated what a great place the kennel was but, really, it could be that the poodles hated it so much, they were just happy to be let out. Of course I know that’s not the case at all.
Back at home, they were desperate for a bath, something they totally hated…but needed.
The other big news of the day was the arrival of my new phone.
A thing of beauty. I am in love.
