Hankley

Hankley looked lovely today. It was clear and, at first, deserted. The gorse is starting to appear and small heather buds are beginning to sprout amid the brown of last year. And we heard a skylark! I’ve never heard one before and Mirinda assured me it was what we were listening to. You can hear one here. Apparently it’s endangered. I was quite surprised. Mirinda knows her birds but I wasn’t aware she could actually recognise an accent.

Hankley may have skylarks, but why no foxes? The dogs never roll in fox shit there. And that can only be because they never find any. Yet hankley is much more deserted than Farnham park. I would prefer it if I were a fox.
    And I could eat skylarks….

The coming of spring is so refreshing as the coming of autumn is here after the very humid summer. I am to inform the webmaster that we are not allowed to access the requested page, I will try and find a disk on bird calls over here. Mirinda , maybe there are more chooks available around Farnham Park they are a favourite dish of the fox. Claire,
