I had a rather busy day today. There was the usual shopping and general admin as well as an unsuccessful digital search for something for Mirinda. I also mowed and fixed a blind to a window. Of all the tasks I undertook today, the blind was the worst.
The blind is because of a motion detecting light mounted recently by the neighbours. Every time it switches on, it floods the bedroom with light. The window is not a standard size, so we found a blind that could be adjusted to the right size.
It was not very good.
The whole process was a bit ridiculous. The IKEA instructions were, unusually, a tad scant. They looked simple enough but the blind refused to work properly. While the whole job only took me an hour, it felt like I’d wasted a day on it.
It was as if someone in the design department had had a great idea which everyone cheered and slapped them on the back for. Then it turned out to be not very good after all. Hopefully, then they were sacked for creating a very silly contraption.
Of course, the mowing was fine and, hopefully, this will mark the last mow of the year.
As for shopping…what can I say? Nothing strange there. Well, apart from the new signage in the woods. A couple of chaps in a big white van were busy installing a few of these maps at various points around the paths.
Of course, being a Wednesday meant a very early start for Mirinda who is enjoying the 06:30 Friskis&Svettis sessions with KSP. Or so she says. I think it might be because she’s still asleep for them.
