Today we had our test results at SFI. Ninni sat down with us, one at a time, to give us the good/bad news along with some constructive criticism. While we waited for our turns, we were supposed to work quietly with our work books. This didn’t last very long. After the third person left the room, the chatter started and never really stopped.
Of course, Dina, the class genius, did extremely well. On the other hand, I didn’t.
I answered some questions with the answer rather than a full sentence. For instance, for the question “What day is it today?” I should have written something like, today is Tuesday rather than just Tuesday. It’s obvious and proves I’m an idiot. My other mistake was thinking a question asked what days students went to school rather than the opposite.
Ninni said I’m too quick and should have a second thought about questions. Of course, she was right. On the flip side, my parsing was perfect.
My almost complete lack of Swedish was displayed when Ninni asked us what we did on the weekend. All I could come up with was “Kraftskiva” without anything else. Then, of course, Ninni asked me all sorts of questions about it which I could only answer with single words and incomprehensible mumbles.
In other news, we had a wine delivery today. It was from a new company because the one that Nicoline recommended to us, which worked out really well, has stopped delivering to Sweden. Unfortunately, the new one didn’t exactly work out.
The wine is fine, the timing was okay but, for reasons known only to them, they delivered it to the Coop in Trosa rather than to the house. A dozen bottles of wine in a big thick box weighs around 17kg which is quite difficult to get home unless you drive a car.
Fortunately, Mirinda picked me up from SFI and was happy to go via the centrum.
And so the hunt continues for another wine delivery service while I try and master whole sentences in Swedish.
