Frank and Hugo

The Naked Bed

The mattress turned up today at about 10:30. The two delivery guys took it upstairs then, after saying how gorgeous Emma was, they drove off to their next drop. Before unwrapping the mattress and making the new bed, I went into town to shop.

There are regular group visits to Farnham Park. They are organised by the Town Council and are quite well attended. I’m not sure if they get a history and geography lesson or whether they all just walk together but, they do it all year, regardless of the weather.

They approach like a horde of invading tourists but then, as they draw closer, you realise the average age is well beyond retirement age and they probably all live within ten miles of Farnham.

As they get to me they almost all say good morning (or afternoon) big grins on their faces. I reckon the big grins are because they have forced me to say hello back about 50 times in order to return the greetings equably.

Never mind, I say! They all look happy and are breathing in the fresh delight which is always the park.

And, while on the subject of delight, I have finally seen Frank and Hugo. They are the French bulldogs that Chantelle (Starbucks) recently bought. Not that I saw them in person but Chantelle had enough time between making drinks to show me a video and a few photos.

The video showed Chantelle walking them. Frank is not that keen on walking so she has to carry him while Hugo is much more independent. The photos included one of them on her bed. When I asked if they slept with her yet she said not yet but that they spent the day on her bed while she was a work. They are totally cute.

In town I tried to buy some 100% cotton pale yellow sheets to fit the new bed. Unfortunately, Elphicks is having work done right where the Manchester is generally sold. So their stock of 100% cotton sheets are in storage at the moment. That was annoying.

Back at home I managed to find some white sheets which fit. Clearly I’ll have to buy the sheets online.

The rest of the day was spent shifting things between the Old Rose Room and the Green Room. Not what I’d call fun.

Autumnal oak…just cos
