Why?

Last night, Nicktor and I watched two movies. Apart from a few far fetchings, the first one was pretty good and had Richard Armitage in it (from Spooks) so was quite good. Anyway, it had a story and was exciting. The second one was simply one of the worst things I’ve ever seen. And I’ve been wondering why it was. I have come up with the following:

It had no characters with ANY redeeming features; and
It had no humour

That’s it, really. OK, the story line wasn’t up to much either but with a bit of ingenuity, I think it could have been much better. I wonder who put the money up and how they felt on release (which reminds me of the Bunker…something I’d rather forget). It was truly bad. But not in quality, mind you. The acting, the film work, the sets, everything. Money had been spent and you could see where. But, dear me, what a load of toss.

Nicktor fell asleep after the first 15 minutes and didn’t see most of it. I drifted off a few times but hung on to see if there was any point to it. There wasn’t. I should have just gone to bed.

In case anyone is vaguely interested, the film was Rise Of The Footsoldier. While I have read some pretty damning reviews, it’s weird that I have also read a couple of reviews from ordinary people who thought it was fantastic. I can only assume they are 15 year olds who just love lots of violence.
