Sometimes, when I don’t manage to find a clever title for my daily drivel, I tend to amuse myself with little games that only I’d notice. For instance, for the last eight posts, the titles all begin with the letter ‘S’. Now, for want of anything better to do with my time, I’ve decided that the next 26 entries will go through the alphabet.
I’m not sure what will happen when I get to 24.
Titles aside, today was spent shopping and driving. I went into the centrum while Mirinda drove Nicoline to the shops. While her eye is improving from the operation, there’s still no way she can drive, so Mirinda is being her chauffeur.
Then, after lunch, we headed for Nyköping, mainly to buy a set of rubbish bins in order to make my life easier when it comes to recycling.
The last time we were in Nyköping was the first time we’d been to Nyköping, and it was dead. It was a Sunday after 4pm and, apart from a few marauding kids, there was about as much life as a scattering of grit. It all looked very nice, don’t get me wrong, it was just the tumbleweed was a bit off-putting.
But not today. Today, there was life aplenty. The place was alive with people and stalls and every shop open. There was even a clown doing magic tricks, impressing people with his string and balloon trick.
By the way, the little kid assisting the magic clown in the photo above looked, quite frankly, confused and wishing she was anywhere but where she was. Still, the audience enjoyed the show. We watched for a bit before heading down to Cals Ohlsen where we managed to buy exactly the bins I was after.
On the way back to Max, the clown had changed to a guy bouncing a football on his head. There was a lot of clapping from the gathered folk. It was a sort of cranial keepie uppie.
On the way home, (our new red home) we dropped into the Green Storage and removed the final bits and pieces. It had served us well, but it was now time to end our relationship. I’m going to miss it. In a strange sort of way. Still, nothing lasts forever. And I did a BeReal from there just to mark the moment.
Our unit (78) was right down the end, in the darkness.
