Yesterday, Good Friday, Mirinda was heading into Stockholm for another InterNations Go social event. On Thursday night, she had a notification to say it was cancelled because the organiser was unwell. She decided she’d go into Stockholm anyway. I had to go shopping, so we decided to leave together.
Rather than wind up waiting at the Tappström bus stop on the way home, she decided to drive to the big commuter car park and get the ferry. We parted company at the Ica.
Just as I was finishing my shopping (mostly for the simnel cake) I had a text from her to say the ferry had been cancelled and she’d meet me in the café next door. The ferry was at the dock but was lacking a crew member, so they were unable to set off.
So, this morning, Mirinda decided to try again.
This time the ferry operated as per timetable and she spent a lovely day wandering around various bits of Stockholm. She said it was very crowded; the most crowded she’d ever seen it. Her description fell short of what I witnessed in the summer.
I, of course, stayed home with the girls and had a bit of a lazy day. Well, apart from reading, writing, watching South Korean TV and taking them for a walk.
And the day was absolutely glorious and warm enough not to have to wear a fleece. I even saw someone sitting on their front terrace, reading a book, wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Mind you, I also saw a few people in big, puffy jackets and gloves, so not everyone shared my opinion.
