Roten graffiti

We went to our first Open House today. It was to look at the yellow house in Tungelsta; the one we saw from the street the other day. Mirinda had contacted the real estate agent, and he’d let her know when the Open House was taking place. We drove over this afternoon.

On the way, we stopped off to check out, what looks like a dream house from the Hemnet app. It’s another one near the Perfect Swedish Family. It ticks an awful lot of boxes. It really looks ideal. Mind you, a lot of houses do. It’s not till you actually get to go inside that you realise it’s not as ideal as the photos would have you think.

Like the yellow house. While it looked excellent from the outside with a big garden and about 20 minutes to the Coop and the station, I didn’t like it. I hate to repeat something that Mirinda said in Budapest, but it felt souless to me. I’m glad to say that Mirinda felt more or less the same.

There was nothing inherently bad about it (the kitchen was quite nice and there was a lovely new bathroom) but the layout was quite odd. I couldn’t see us living there. With six bedrooms, it looked a bit like student accommodation.

The Open House, though, was very helpful. The real estate agent gave us a few tips and it was excellent to see inside our first house. We drove back happy.

First thing, I’d walked to the Coop and spotted this odd bit of graffiti.

‘Roten’ means ‘the root’, in Swedish. Is the artist suggesting that the Coop is the root of all evil? And what does the mysterious ’20’ mean? Too many questions.
