Saturday with the girls

Mirinda spent the day in Stockholm today. She set off in the morning and didn’t return until well into the night. She saw an exhibition, had gin and tonic, watched some ice skating, caught buses and, generally, had a wonderful time. In the meanwhilst, I spent a relaxing day with the girls.

Part of my day was walking them around the block. It’s a big block. In fact, it took me about an hour, though that included a visit to a small football pitch, so Emma could rub her face on the frosty grass. I was also walking slowly and carefully because there was a fair bit of frozen stuff everywhere. Even the lake was decidedly icy.

We saw a few people (one with a dog), on our long, cold journey. All said hej; all were wrapped up and smiling.

I also took the girls for a walk around the outside of the house. Mirinda normally does this of a morning, so they can go to the loo and also to give Emma a chance at chasing sticks and bringing them back. Although we’ve been here over a week, it’s the first time I’ve walked around outside.

It’s quite an impressive plot with a lot of boulders and an apparently unused yet impressive tree house. I like how one has to scramble up the rock to reach the ladder.

That was pretty much all my excitement for today.

I did manage to watch a few episodes of 1899, which is brilliant. It’s such a shame it was cancelled and, because of that, I’m not looking forward to a lack of conclusion. Still, it is fascinating, mysterious and beautiful all the same. I think I can appreciate it for it’s artistic achievements as much as an ending.

I also managed to research a couple of soldiers and helped settle on a date for the Weasels to meet in Amsterdam. All up, a lazy yet productive day while Mirinda gallivanted around Stockholm.

You know I’ve walked around the house every day and never noticed the tree house! How is that even possible?
And remember – mountains not boulders!!
