My first job each morning is to take the girls out to the toilet. Obviously I don’t bother with shoes, I just step out onto the small terrace and let them ablute. They always come back because it’s cold and dark. In particular, it was very cold this morning and there’d been quite a heavy frost. Which is why I left footprints on the wood.
As a result, I think I’ve worked out why I have little sense of balance. I appear to have no left foot. That might seem very odd, but I have included the photographic proof above, taken this morning. It’s most confusing.
This might also explain why my dancing is crap.
Once the sun had risen, I’d had a few cups of coffee, dressed and washed, and the world was light again, I headed off to the Coop.
I must have left earlier today because I saw quite a few kids rushing to school. The school is just behind the Coop. You can tell the ones who are late because they sort of half run, half shuffle while still looking at their phones. Quite the skill. I do wonder how they manage it in PE. Or during ice hockey. I guess they have a sort of holder that goes around their neck. Like Bob Dylan uses for his harmonica.
This morning, before shopping, I dropped the recycling off. The big bins are behind the Coop. I’d already sorted everything back at the house, so it was just a question of putting the right rubbish in the right slots.
The Coop was almost empty. In fact, there was more staff than customers. And most of the customers were young kids buying energy drinks. I do wonder about the wisdom behind kids drinking caffeine enriched fizzy water. Not being a parent, I am obviously unaware of the benefits of such libations to 12 year olds.
Back at the house, Mirinda took the dogs for a long walk while I worked on accounts and dead soldiers. The weather remained beautiful.
I made roast cod loin for dinner on a bed of sautéed kale.
Once cooked and tasted, it was pronounced delicious.
