I could have gone to Woking and watch them destroy Aldershot 4-1 but, instead, I went with Mirinda to The Drummond in Albury and had a lovely Sunday roast with Scott and Corey. The fact that it was the last time we could see them before we leave for Sweden, made it no contest. Anyway, I saw Aldershot lose to Woking on Boxing Day so didn’t really need to repeat the experience.
We have been trying to meet up with Scott and Corey for ages but, with one thing and another, it hasn’t worked out. Today, however, things aligned, and we spent a delightful few hours in their company.
In the course of our Sunday roasts (three of us had pork, one had beef) we discussed mental health, the joys of Sweden (ours), children (theirs), reading lists, asymmetry, poetry and lots of stuff around work. Or, ex-work, as Mirinda should now call it.
We always have so much to talk about, it takes all of lunchtime and beyond.
Regarding my foot: Things are progressing, though I could have done without wearing my shoe for quite so long. Getting home and removing it was a real highlight.
Happy New Year, from us at The Drummond.
