Linen press surprises

Given our forthcoming departure for Sweden, we’re busy having a massive clear out. We’re getting rid of lots of books, clothes and various other things we’ve filled the house with, over the years. A lot of it has caused a high degree of Stuffocation in our house and it’s nice to feel a sort of relief from the symptoms.

Some stuff it’s hard to part with but, I’ve found, once you get started, it gets a lot easier.

So we packed up Max and delivered books and clothes to the Phyllis Tuckwell donation centre in Farnham.

Back at home, we started clearing out the linen press in the Old Rose Room. We have, mysteriously, accumulated a lot of pillow slips over the years. I’m not sure how that happened. There were things in the back of the press that I’ve never seen before. Again, another mystery. Now a lot of it needs bagging up and getting rid of.

In the meanwhilst, with the run up to Christmas well underway, I made my cranberry sauce today and put it in the freezer alongside the turkey stuffing.
