One of things I noticed last week while scrubbing away was how much worse the tiles under the feetless pots were for dirt collection. It makes sense, of course. Pots with feet allow the free movement of debris and liquid whereas the ones without do not. You wouldn’t think this would cause much grief but, believe me, it does.
Add to this feet required situation the fact that Gardener Dave wanted some grass seed for tomorrow and it was inevitable that we would be setting off for the garden centre at some time today.
First, of course, I had to go shopping, Mirinda had to do some yoga on the grass and then Skype Fi and Bob (and Jason as it happened).
There was a lot of chatter going on while I did some necessary stuff in my office then worked on starting on the WWI research now I have the Panel 4 PDF. Before starting into the research proper, I find it helpful if I start off with the names and regiment first then just work off the spreadsheet rather than keep heading back to the front of the document.
Eventually and after a smoked salmon and salad lunch, we headed off for Badshot Lea and their pot section.
While the pots are very obvious, the feet are not. Mirinda had to ask a staff member where they might be. He didn’t know and so the hunt went on with the staff member and Mirinda wandering all over and me pushing the usual recalcitrant trolley in their wakes.
Giving up the search as fruitless, the staff member eventually called the Pot Feet Expert on his walkie talkie only to suddenly spot the pot feet right in front of him. So, all was happy and we headed for the tills with quite a few pot feet, a pot, a tiny alpine, two boxes of grass seed and some beer. The latter was my reward for being pleasant, something I can never promise when we visit the Garden Centre.
At 6, Mirinda headed off for the gym to attend a beginner’s yoga class just to see what it’s like. She came back exhausted. She was very glad she’d attended a beginner’s class because, she reckoned, anything further along the educational walkway would have killed her.
