Panic

Yesterday I started having a problem with this blog. A plugin stopped working – something to do with a lack of communication between one bit of software and another. Naturally I tried to fix it. This was not a good idea.

I wound up with an invisible blog. Totally weird. It looked like this: invisible blog. But the blog files were not empty like this one. Everything was there, I just couldn’t see it. Clearly I’d broken it with my fixing.

I quickly put up a ‘blog broken’ page and decided to leave off fiddling with it until after some sleep – I was nodding off over the keyboard, which is never a good thing. Here’s the message especially for my wife who found it so funny:

Emergency index page for the blog

Day-z decided I’d had enough sleep at 6am so, after my coffee, I went through the blog upgrading process in order to preserve the content that was already there (my worst fear! Losing everything!!). And guess what? It worked! I took down the ‘blog broken’ page and wrote this entry.

Interestingly, the plugin that started this off is still not working.

Thank goodness, you gave me a fright as I am always telling every one my son can fix anything to do with computers, and so you did my faith has been restored.
