350

Today, 350 years ago, London burned. There’s a lot of commemorative things going on in London today and over the weekend. Sadly we’ll probably not be seeing any of them…given they’re in London.

This morning, in Nero, I ran into Sue (the manager from Starbucks). She gave me a big hug as if she hadn’t seen me for two weeks. She asked if I would be joining them for the big re-opening tomorrow. My answer was pretty obvious.

The plastic has gone from the windows blocking the refit at Starbucks from public view. It looks pretty cool and funky. I’ll try and get a photo tomorrow…as long as it’s not too crowded.

I actually visited a Starbucks today, in Guildford. Rather than the one in White Lion Walk (where the staff are always miserable) I visited the one at the top of town. The staff were a lot better but the decor was a bit sad and tired. Nothing on the Farnham branch.

I was in Guildford for my return appointment with the neurologist. He had the report from the Electrician and wanted to discuss it. So it was the long, long climb up to the hospital again though, given it was in the middle of the day, not as rushed.

The neurologist was a bit disappointed that his initial diagnosis proved wrong. He outlined the next step on the Road of Discovery. I am to have an MRI. He described it in graphic detail. I think he is preparing me for the worst. Though I had an MRI scan on my wrist so I know what’s involved. Possibly the worst thing is that I’ll have to stay still for an hour.

I wasn’t at the hospital for very long before heading back down to the bus station and, eventually, home. I admit I did drop into TK Maxx but they didn’t have anything I fancied…
