Maltings and Wheatsheaf

It’s time the U3A website had a facelift. This is the verdict of the new committee and so we met today to discuss the basic design.

I was going to leave mum at the library then go and pick her up afterwards but then figured I’d not be long and she might like to sit in the Riverside Cafe at the Maltings with a nice picture book. Which she did.

The meeting went well the upshot being that I need to get to reworking the existing site while the committee try and get more buy-in from the members.

I then took mum to the Wheatsheaf for lunch.

Mirinda and I popped into the Wheatsheaf on the Heritage weekend and were very impressed with the renovations so I figured we should try the food.

The pub looks far more welcoming now and the food was excellent – I’d put it on a par with the Holly Bush though with less designer food. Even with a huge Christmas party of about 30 people, everything went very well and we ate and drank and generally had a lovely lunch.

In fact, mum’s lunch was so good she didn’t bother with dinner.
