I had to go to the house today. It was to tell Paul and Clive about the laundry door being in the wrong place.
Dave the Builder told me (via email because he’s on holiday in Turkey) they could easily move it to the right enough, to fit the units in. Mirinda also wanted me to drop her prescription repeats off at the hospital so it made sense to catch the bus in with her.
I found Paul and Clive and asked about the door. Paul didn’t seem at all phased. He measured it and said it wouldn’t be a problem. Apparently the door frame isn’t even fixed in – they were leaving that for the chippies. I also had a few other questions for them which they answered to my satisfaction. Then they started on the terrace…
There was a lot of questions about the terrace, most of which I couldn’t answer because the designer still hasn’t contacted Mirinda. We decided they should just go with what they have so far and hope he gets back to us soon.
While I was there, I met Bill the Chippie (and his mate who didn’t introduce himself). Actually, it’s a bit awkward having a worker there called Bill. His name really should be Paul or John or Dave…surely. Anyway, he seems a nice enough chap and we discussed the extension for the green room so they could make a start on the roof.
We (Day-z and I) then left for Farnham where I decided to spoil myself with a Starbucks. Sylvi, my favourite barista, made a big fuss over her and showed me a photo of her mother-in-law’s new puppy. It looked like it had been through an electrical storm. It’s fur was sticking out like hedgehog spines. But it had a very cute little face.
After a delightful latte, we left for the Maltings (to drop off a computer sticky thing) and, eventually, caught the next bus back to the cottage…just in time for lunch.
After lunch, I had some admin work to do before taking Day-z for a walk around the cricket ground, stopping briefly for a read and a photo op.
I finished some more admin work and did some writing…and basically that was it for the day. And the rainfall was minimal today.
Just a lazy day in fact HAHAHAHA
Love mum and dad xxxx
