Mickey Rooney

Mickey Rooney (real name Joseph Yule Jnr) died today. I was amazed he was still alive. Looking on IMDB reveals that he was still working. What an amazing guy. Most amazing of all is the fact that he died aged 93 and worked in showbiz for 87 of them.

As for me, it was basically a houseworking day at the flat. It didn’t take long. I also discovered the optimal time for shopping at Waitrose in Canary Wharf. It’s 3pm. No crowds (they’re all at work), just straight in, pay and leave. I’m hoping this is the same every day and not a flash in the pan…or a Monday thing.

Today I also found out that the London Marathon takes place on Sunday and for the Canary Wharf section, we are right in the middle of it. Should be interesting.

Tonight, we started watching Modern Family, as recommended by Ben. After two episodes, we’re hooked. When America tries, it can make some brilliant comedy. It reminded me a bit of Arrested Development.

And Peaches Geldof died today as well. Poor, sad thing.
