Fail

I tried to fix mum and dad’s PC today. I thought I had. I then heard from mum later in the day. I’d apparently made it worse! Grrrrr.

Anyway, apart from that failure, the rest of the day was well spent about the house and at the Talking Newspaper.

In fact, I had another compliment today from one of my readers…even after I called her Sue for reasons known only to some strange, uncharted area of my brain. Her name is actually Anne.

Anyway, we were walking back to town after the recording and she said how she loved reading with me because I didn’t take it as seriously as some of the others. I thought that was very nice.

I did explain that I didn’t see the point in doing it if we didn’t enjoy ourselves. She agreed completely, saying there were a lot of other things she could be doing that would make her miserable. I also said I was amazed I hadn’t been told off for being too cheeky.

The session wasn’t as good as last week (I wasn’t expecting it to be) though the two women were fun. Richard, my male reader, is one of those jolly chaps who doesn’t really ad lib very well and generally gets the wrong end of the stick. Nice enough but not exactly ‘fun’.

We had the deaf sound engineer as well, which is always a bit of a laugh. It’s okay, I’m not being horrible. He’s the first to say how bad his hearing is and he’s a lovely chap. I have a lot of time for him.

So it was pretty painless and some fun, which is always pleasant, and just about it for my day.

Oh, and Nicktor had a match report printed in the Herald this week. They also included one of his photos. He’s taken up cricket and it’s about his team (Liphook 3rd XI). He was so excited, he blipped it. You can see/read it here.

I should add that he didn’t get a bat and he dropped two catches. Still, he’s pretty chuffed.
