Work chatter

I accepted the offer on Folly Hill for the full asking price – no problem.

Had a meeting with Steve Johnson regarding the demise of the Launch Centre. He seems to think that QA will gain more areas of testing responsibility. I think he’s too jolly.

A little niggling worry is starting to move about within me.

We had another Broadtalk without Adam Singer – with Howard (Finance) and Whitbread (our big boss) instead. The result of it is that I can’t believe a technology company can have so many morons working for it. In the course of the hour, the same question, differently phrased, was asked, over and over and over…

It seems that if your job is at risk, you’ll get a letter. Then you have 90 days for the consultation period to run its course, the last 30 days being your notice. If you ask me, if you get a letter, then Telewest is giving you three months to look for a new job.

Mirinda’s conference went very well. The changes at her work are much better than the ones at mine.

Walking through the wheat this afternoon, a pheasant took off very near and scared the shit out of me. I’m sure they just sit and wait until a human is almost on top of them, then off they go, making their stupid noise and flapping like headless chooks. Meanwhile the poor human is left a shivering mess. Bloody pheasants. (That’s a Python reference, in case you didn’t get it.)

Got the pictures back of Butser last week. Some excellent shots…if I do say so myself.
