Today I tackled the Garden of One Thousand Yaps. Now that the Higgledy Piggledy Palisade is in place, the bed needs to be planted up with some shade loving species. Before that can happen, it needed weeding and cleaning up.
It has sort of become the dumping ground for anything that falls from the tree in Clive’s Corner so there’s a lot of ground litter. There’s also a lot of nuts and stones. So they were my tasks for today.
I weeded, I raked then weeded some more. Unfortunately, the weather was not kind. I managed to get quite wet though the tree did provide some shelter during the heavier falls.
While getting wet through wasn’t that enjoyable, it was better than having to walk through the increasingly dense mud as the rain continued throughout the day. There was a line of muddy footprints across the terrace that stopped at a mud-mound at the big back doors. By the time I decided to call it a day, it definitely needed a hosing down.
Of course, I could have just pulled out the yellow beast and hit the super spray button but for one thing: the rain. I didn’t fancy running an electric device while water was falling from the sky.
So I hit it with the hose. It took a while but soon the terrace was sparkling in the now dominant sunshine.
The only photo I took today was of the girls in the evening when the rain had stopped. Freya was stood on this old stump at the back of the garden. For reasons only a cockerpoo could imagine, Emma decided she wanted to be on it too.
Crazy pair.
That is so funny.
