Since getting my new overcoat, certain people in the house have insisted I change my ‘look’. It seems that t-shirts don’t look any good under it whereas a collar and buttons do. So, I’ve started wearing shirts over the t-shirts when wearing the overcoat.
I have a few shirts but not enough to truly call a wardrobe. For this reason I went to Orvis this morning and bought four new ones. They were on sale.
While that’s a very rare event (me buying clothes not at TK Maxx), even rarer was the sun after lunch. It was so extraordinarily unexpected that I couldn’t get the girls out into it quick enough…after lunch.
For anyone who’s forgotten what it looks like…
Of course everything was still wet and muddy but at least the air was dry. And the puppies were deliriously happy.
And we met a few other delirious dogs on our travels. One of them, Kimmie, we had met one night coming back from Sue. It was the occasion of her very first walk and her new owners were as thrilled as new parents.
Kimmie had grown (she has a lot more growing to do) and was very keen to play with Emma and Freya. Day-z, of course, gave her short shrift.
Her owner, the male of the couple, is Kimmie’s sole carer at the moment as his girlfriend is in Thailand visiting her sister who lives in Bangkok.
He is finding it a bit onerous because she is so boisterous. I told him it only gets worse.
The other dog we meet was Mabel. She’s a pug who also had a fascination for the girls…as did her owner. Actually, Mabel’s owner was entranced by Emma.
She asked all sorts of questions about her parentage and how you can get a teddy bear by pairing a cockerpoo and a poodle. I pointed out that Freya had the same genetic material but looked like a shag pile. We agreed it was just luck.
The rain returned in the prevening.
Love the shirts! Next step hair cut
