Just to show how our weather is so changeable, here are three photos taken at roughly the same place, sometime in the morning over the last three days.
That was Thursday and while it was grey, there was no chance of rain. Well, not until much later in the day.
On Friday we had a gloriously blue sky and sun filled day. It’s amazing how much nicer everything looks when the day is cheerful.
And, finally, this morning was extremely windy and grey. It felt like it might rain.
Meanwhile, this morning, mum was standing waiting for a train to Amsterdam in strong winds and in temperatures not reaching zero.
Our temperature, by comparison, is very mild for this time of the year. It has been since we changed into Autumn, if you ask me. I’ve had no need for turning the stealth fire on…not that that has stopped other members of our household.
Today, rather than cold, it was very windy. Apparently the wind speed in Scotland was up to 100mph in some places. While it wasn’t even close to being that blowy here, it was still quite strong.
It felt a bit scary walking into town with the trees swaying and creaking, threatening to drop their wooden payloads on my head with every step.
Mind you, the trees in the park didn’t sway as much as the pine trees in Farnham Heath where we walked the dogs late in the day. They were almost trebuchet-like in their bending and snapping. I’m fairly certain I saw a few birds being flung into the wide, grey yonder.
Not to mention the trolls -swaying and jabbering in the wind
