Today we took the girls to Hankley. We haven’t been for ages. It was beautiful, as usual.
The feeling of wide open space is the most appealing thing about Hankley. Unlike Frensham (see last week) there’s rarely many people there and the uninterrupted views fill your mind with joy.
The few people we did see fussed over Emma…naturally. (One group of people said she looked like an Ewok, though I think she’s grown out of that and is more like a living teddy bear these days.) She, for her part, managed to say hello to every dog we passed. She really is a wonderfully sociable puppy.
On the way back, we popped into the Holly Bush for a pint and Emma drew even more admiring glances though, by this time, Mirinda had lost her lead and Emma was attached to a Dutch football team scarf.
Day-z, of course, remained aloof, trying to ignore Emma.
This week’s roast was chicken, which we thoroughly enjoyed (particularly the Parmesan parsnips which, Mirinda claimed, didn’t taste ANYTHING like parsnips and were, therefore, edible) before settling down in our new recliners for a couple of episodes of Fargo.
A lovely, perfect, lazy Sunday.
Odd title – there’s nothing about chairs in it…
Emma definitely looks like a teddy bear! Wish I was there for the walk too, sounds like a perfect Sunday!!
I agree a Perfect Sunday
