Do other animals get gout?

Following my post yesterday regarding the Armborst & Tulpaner gig I attended in Nyköping, it had a massive 58 views from Sweden. This is in contrast to my usual two or three. Thank you KSP for spreading the word.

Back in the days when Nicktor would read my blog posts regarding Aldershot football games via Twitter, I would ask him to retweet to reach a wider audience. He never did. KSP, on the other hand, shows how it can be done.

Moving right on along, today was not an exciting day. In fact, it was a lovely, normal day, the likes of which I feel we’ve not been able to enjoy since Mirinda returned from the UK. There’s been uni, Swedish classes, her cold, all in the way. We had an offer to join Nicoline and Ann-Helen at the Bio to watch a movie but I decided I’d rather have a normal Sunday.

So, first thing, I went shopping then, back at home and after språkcafé with Nicoline, we went into Trosa for brunch at Tres Små Rum before Mirinda had a lovely, long Skype with Fi. She then took the girls for a pre-sunset walk, the day being so beautiful. Finally, we settled down for a Sunday roast.

And this is where things went somewhat awry.

It’s rare I have a failure at Chez Gaz, particularly when it’s something as simple as a roast but, tonight I had a major failure. The meat was inedible and way too salty. It ruined what smelled like a delicious dinner.

Then, to top the night off in a horrid way, my gout made an unwelcome return. I went to bed with a very painful foot. I can’t remember the last bout of gout I had which, I guess is a good thing. If anything, it proves I’m cutting down on excessive drinking and living high off the hog. And if tonight’s pork was anything to go by, high on the hog is not anywhere I’m likely to be at the moment.

Hopefully, I’ll be more mobile by Tuesday but, I think, tomorrow I maybe stuck on the lounge. Or in my study. Definitely not walking around very much.

To finish this meandering post on a more positive note…

While I was sorting through some old photos, I came across this picture of newly-weds, posing with the Right Reverend Minnie Mouse during the Farnham Carnival in 2013. It’s been a few years now, and I wonder if they are still married. Or is Church Mouse Marriage easily cancelled? I don’t know. Maybe Disney does.

They certainly look happy enough. They probably have 12 kids and are living at Folly Hill now. That’ll wipe those smiles off their faces.

Sorry, that’s the gout speaking. I’m sure they’re very happy, where ever they are and whoever they’re with.
