Love over the compost bin

As I left the house this morning, I checked the thermometer. It was a glorious 8°. I briefly wondered whether I should have worn a light fleece over my T-shirt. By the time I arrived at the ICA, I realised I didn’t need to. A little later, as I installed a grab rail on the glass room and kick boards in the kitchen, I realised I was sweating. I checked the temperature and it was back up in the low 20s.

I was rather busy today. And not just physically. I have been trying to get banking information from Portugal and it hasn’t been particularly easy. Still, today, finally, I managed to get what I needed and completed a task that’s been outstanding since May.

I celebrated by putting up the aforementioned grab rail and kick boards.

Jason was out all day, checking out accommodation in Stockholm and Mirinda went for a walk with Beth from next door.

The news from Beth is that they have sold their house and will be moving to Gothenburg very soon. She told us that our new neighbour is a man about her age who has a collie/husky cross. I really hope that Emma doesn’t hear about it. We don’t need a return to her barking all the time.

Beth also started telling us about how she met and fell in love with Matts. She was discussing how to add nitrogen to compost with a woman when she spotted him. Unfortunately, she went off on a bit of a tangent, featuring the same tips for us, and we didn’t get to the Matts bit. I can only assume their eyes met over the rotting kitchen scraps and that was it. Either that or he suggested peeing in the compost helps with nitrogen addition.

Before Mirinda and Beth went for their walk, they had lunch at the Folkhögskolan at Stensund. Mirinda was very surprised to see KSP there. Which, in itself, was an odd surprise, given KSP works there.

It wasn’t the only meal she had out today. We also popped over to Lagnö Bo for dinner.

I took Mirinda on a tour of the changes before we sat down to eat and chat. They are always so welcoming and friendly. Anita was even happy to slow down her Swedish so Mirinda could understand her. It was an excellent evening.

It was also good to see that some of the floor has been repaired and replaced.

Of course, it’s not completely finished. The other side of the Winter Garden is still dug up and being repaired. Hopefully, it’ll all be ready for Winter.

By the way, Jason managed to get a room in Stockholm for the next two months starting in October. It will certainly make getting to work a lot easier.
