The women who work at Chez Charlotte are starting to recognise Mirinda. I’m not surprised given we’ve had lunch at Emil’s Backe for the last few weekends. Or maybe it’s because she keeps ordering in her Australian accented Swedish. There can’t be too many people doing that.
The weather was more conducive for proper outside eating today. As opposed to our rather damp visit with Lisa last weekend. This week, people were even visiting the Hippie Home shop.
Mind you, the sun, which had blazed down all morning, decided to hide behind some thick, heavy clouds while we were there. Mirinda even put a fleece on. Obviously, I didn’t. The temperature was riding high in the 20’s most of the day so I didn’t feel the need.
In fact, the weather was perfect for drying washing. I had to use the drying rack given I don’t have a washing line yet but, even so, the sun was magnificent, working its magic in a couple of hours.
On the other hand, we weren’t as magnificent.
We had planned to go to the other flea market today but missed it. We drove the length of the road it was supposed to be on but, alas, it had slipped through a rift in time or we were too late because they’d all packed up and gone home.
It was a shame but, given it was a Sunday, we felt a day of rest wasn’t a terrible thing.
Obviously, it wasn’t a complete day of rest.
I attached a flag to the house while Mirinda took the dogs for a lovely walk. She reckons the Swedish flag represents the sky on a perfect day. I think so, too.
And I made lasagne for dinner, something I haven’t made for a while. Mirinda said that it was ‘guest worthy’ which was a surprise as it’s one our more ordinary meals.
Mind you, it was pretty yum, if I do say so myself.
The lady said my Aussie svenska was very good I’ll have you know!
