George Michael died today. Imagine dying on Christmas Day? That’s about as sad as it gets. He was only 53. Since his death it has emerged that he was a massive philanthropist.
Meanwhile, at our house…it was our first Christmas on our own for…well for ages. We had a completely hygge Christmas, just the four of us and lots of peace and comfort and warmth.
First thing I made up a batch of shortbread which fitted beautifully, along with my mince pies from yesterday, on my wonderful Alice themed three tier cake stand, with cup (thank you, Mirinda).
I also iced my cake yesterday so it was ready to decorate before lunch.
We had the new traditional reading of Christmases Past Posts…which caused quite a few chuckles.
Lunch was a lo-carb turkey delight and delish…if I do say so myself.
And the cake, as a dessert, was lovely. It’s always a risk given it’s made so long ago but it was yum.
Late in the day we took the girls for a walk up to the Castle and back. A lot of other people had the same idea and there were a lot of Christmas greeting exchanges. It was the perfect end to our lunch.
While it was a lovely day, it’s going to make quite a dull read next year…
No its was ok and yes I love that photo of Mirinda she looks very young and lovely.
