Goodbye grey

I’ve started to notice a difference in my upper body strength since visiting the gym has become a regular part of my life. I guess it’s not surprising given I use the lifting machines as my ‘cool down’ after clouding and riding. I’m also feeling more alive and alert than I have for years. I kind of wish I’d started doing it ages ago.

Apart from pottering around, shopping, weeding and walking the dogs, the main thing I did today was colour my hair. Freya kept me company by sleeping on the bathroom tiles while I waited for the timer to go off. Emma, of course, was guarding the front door from the stairs.

All the action today was next door. Gail’s niece from Brisbane is visiting for a while before heading to Europe on an organised tour. This meant poor Rodney barking all morning while they were at the airport meeting her. (I wonder Mr Sandals could stand the noise.) Then, after their return it was a big family gathering in the back garden. I thought Emma would go off but, for reasons known only to her, she wasn’t bothered and managed to behave. This is pretty much unprecedented.

The weather continues lovely – blue skies and not too hot. Loving this summer.
