Not only the brickies turned up today but also Dave the Builder, Tim the Electrical Engineer (not a sparky), a plumber and a boiler specialist. There was a big conflab, mainly in the dining room, while Paul and Clive cracked on rebuilding the fence between us and the Crazies.
I discussed electricals with Tim and plumbing with the other two while Paul and Clive made short work of the fence, until, eventually, the subbies left and I went shopping.
By the time I returned, the first fence panel and uprights were already finished and the fence was starting to look a hell of a lot better than the old one. Not that that would have been very hard. Having no fence looked better than the old one.
While Paul and Clive slaved away, squishing themselves into the now narrow gap between the fence and the wall, I went back to packing up the kitchen.
I am amazed by how much baking stuff I have. I guess you just buy a cake tin when you need a particular size and they gradually build up. Some of it is previously undiscovered good stuff too. I’m going to definitely use them when I unpack them into my NEW KITCHEN.
After lunch, we went up to the park. The wind was so strong, it kept blowing Day-z sideways.
I deliberately walked over to the castle in order to take a photo of the ditch, denuded of trees. Note that this was completely full of foliage.
On the way home, I took this shot in Badger Wood. We love Badger Wood.
Back at home, Dave the Builder had turned up with a few bits and pieces (door frame, primer, lights) for the continuing work. I missed him as he was walking down the side while I came through the house. What I didn’t miss was the brilliant new fence which Paul and Clive had completed.
I’m going to work tomorrow after a long time away. Totally looking forward to it. The builders are going to another job and Mirinda will be home at lunchtime so Day-z should be fine.
Wow what a difference lovely new fence, can’t wait to see the new kitchen.
Love mum and dad xx
The new fence seems quite a bit taller than the old one – making it even harder for the crazies to break through
