It was my cousin Gail’s birthday today. She’s been waiting her entire life for this date. And the world did not end. Either that or it did and I just missed it. In which case, no-one will be reading this. Not that that will stop me writing.
Today was full of very little. Apart from going down for my (now regular) hazelnut latte at La Promenade and walking down to Sunland with mum for some essential shopping (cheese and crackers) we mostly stayed in.
Staying in was a good option as we had a visit from Mitchie and Natalia. Mitchie was sure I shouldn’t be over here yet so it was a nice surprise to sit and have a chat. I’d never met Natalia so that was pleasant as well. She is the Queen of Piercings at the beauty salon where she works. She took great delight in telling us how much she enjoys stabbing people in various parts of their bodies. She wants to practise on Mitchie with a couple of nipple piercings but he’s not so keen. Actually, he’s vehemently opposed to it.
We then had a lovely visit from Emma who I met last time I was here (two years ago) and have been Facebook friends with since. I’m not one of those people who think Facebook destroys social interaction and this proves that it doesn’t. We had a great natter, as if we’d been friends for years. Mum was amazed.
Emma told us of her travelling plans (sort of gap travel, post uni). She’s never been overseas (her passport only arrived this week) and is hopping through South East Asia on all manner of planes. Poor thing. Though, at her age, she’ll probably survive a lot better than I ever do.
Apart from that, I have been engrossed in trying to fix mum & dad’s PC problem…which is driving me insane!
Both girls are the best adopted G/daughters one could have and we love them to bits it was a great afternoon.
