There was a really loud group of people in Tre Små Rum this morning. Honestly, I’m surprised there weren’t thousands of complaints by the more peaceful customers. Not that they bothered us very much.
We were at Tre Små Rum, meeting up with KSP and Charlie. They were there for breakfast while we had saffron buns. The gloriously yellow saffron buns were still warm from the oven. Delicious, they were. I’m a bit torn between them and my favourite of old, the cardamom bun. I guess it’s fortunate that the saffron buns are only available at this time of year.
Anyway, the five of us had a lovely time chatting, joking and generally being very boisterous. KSP and Charlie are very funny and a delight to spend time with. Best of all, unlike the usually quiet and sedate Swedes, they are almost as bad as Australians.
It emerged that KSP taught Karin Westerberg when she was at high school. Given we saw Karin in concert yesterday, this was a delightful coincidence. She said that Karin was as lovely and delightful as she appeared to be on stage.
While we were talking, it also emerged that KSP had received an M&S Christmas cake. I assume it arrived via the post, though I’m not certain. Anyway, it forced me to reveal that I make my own Christmas cake every year and was about to add the marzipan layer this afternoon.
KSP looked like she’d like some, so I promised her a wedge. Charlie doesn’t like fruit cake, so there’ll be none for her! Then, true to my word, once back home, I prepared the marzipan and covered the cake in it.
I have decided to go for a runic design this year. Well, as far as the snake, anyway.
I shall paint the snake with red lines as soon as the cake is iced. I may even add some runes with cake paint.
