Is that the beard talking?

We had to leave the house very early this morning in order to get Sharon and Jud to the airport for their 10am flight. Given they had to be at the airport two hours before departure, we were heading for the 6am train to Stockholm Central. Given Sharon was down to one arm, we decided to help them lug their luggage to the Arlanda Express platform. Bleary-eyed and by no means very awake, we then managed to catch the 8:43am train back.

In the car on the way to Vagnhärad station, discussion turned to my magnificent beard. Mirinda said it attracted a lot of attention, while I said there is a secret beard cult whereby members wink and smile at each other. I didn’t mention a Freemason style secret handshake, though, obviously, I could have done.

At one point, Sharon said “Is that the beard talking?” and, very quickly, I jotted it down for use as today’s title. I then realized, squashed into the back of Max and covered in luggage, that Sharon never disappoints when it comes to unwittingly supplying me with titles for my posts.

Beard or not, we bade them farewell and waved enthusiastically as their train headed off for the airport. It’s been a lovely week, though it seems to have gone remarkably quickly. Mind you, that could be because I didn’t go to Gotland with them.

After the Broken Bone Incident and plan to take them to Stockholm formed, we’d cancelled Harald who was coming to fit new toilet seats in the house. Given the fact that we’d be back home before most people were awake, we asked if he could still pop over. He could and he did. We now have toilet seats that remain in place when sat upon.

Most of the rest of the day, was spent setting up the new furniture in Mirinda’s study and filling it with books and various bits and pieces. We finally unpacked most of the remaining boxes which were all labelled ‘ornaments’ as we now had places to put things.

Obviously, Mirinda has ornaments but, dotted around the more artistic pieces, were my toys.

My office is starting to feel far more Gary Friendly now. Or is that just the Beard talking? I’m really not sure.
