It rained all night, and we woke to a rather grey and grim Saturday morning which Mirinda had to head out into, for her weekly Swedish class. It reminded me very much of an English February day. The rain didn’t really stop. It wasn’t heavy but it was enough to make the girls wet every time they went outside.
And I blame the weather for our short walk. I didn’t fancy the forest so we just took a quick stroll around the neighbourhood. Freya didn’t mind but Emma was a bit disappointed. Actually, I think Freya would have been happy to stay at home.
So most of the day was spent rattling around the house. I did some tidying up, grazed food from the fridge, did some washing and mopped up the water in the laundry afterwards.
I did a bit of research and found a man whose mother had 21 children over 25 years of marriage. That’s just horrendous. The poor woman. She seems to have been nothing but a baby factory.
The biggest thing today, however, was meeting Erik, the owner of the house we stayed in at Tyresö. We had some mail redirected to Sweden but it didn’t arrive until we’d left his house. He emailed to let us know he had it and then, very kindly, offered to play postman and dropped it off today.
While we only talked for a few minutes (they were on their way to his sister’s place) he seemed a very nice fellow. As he was leaving, he pointed to Max and asked if we’d driven all the way from the UK in it. I laughed and said yes. He nodded in admiration.
The only other thing that happened was I finally finished watching Alice in Borderland. I’m still not sure if I enjoyed the end or not. For one thing, it didn’t really work. For another, it’s left room for another series which seems wrong. Anyway, basically I enjoyed the whole thing, and I’m glad I watched it.
I think I’ll start Squid Game next.
