Christmas catch up

Today saw the arrival of our new washer. Yesterday morning a member of staff said it would be delivered today, probably late afternoon. I decided it would be best to get up early in order to be ready for them to remove old and install new. I’m glad I did.

At 8:30am, their van pulled up with our new washer. Two chaps came in, removed the old one. One of the chaps then sighed and told me the new washer was a bit deeper and the doors probably wouldn’t close once it was in. I said don’t worry about it. If it didn’t fit, I’d take the doors off, I told him. (I’d already measured it and knew it would fit and the doors would close…which they do.)

At 9:00am, they were getting back in the van and driving away. And we have a new washer.

Fully programmable and quite sexy

After an initial empty run (to clear out any debris left over from the factory) I put it through it’s paces something rotten, catching up with Christmas. Because we’ve both been home for the last three weeks, Mount Laundry was becoming unstable as it attempted to reach the ceiling. When the old washer died, I’d just started the demolition.

Anyway, after a lovely long Skype with mum, I put a load on then went up to Farnham for some essential shopping before returning to do more washing. While I took the girls to the park, the new machine was still running. In fact, I think the last load I did was at 9pm…followed by one set on delay to start an hour before I woke up.

What a delight our new washer is.

Oh and my cold has all but gone. I was a bit sniffly is all.
