Mirinda continues to improve. So much so that I thought we could all take a walk into Trosa this morning. By the time she woke up, it was too late as she was having a Skype with Fi. And so, like I have done for the last few weeks, I took the girls into town on my own.
And the weather was cold and unexpectedly snowy. Not the kind of snow that falls in clumps and lies on the ground, crunching beneath one’s feet. No, this snow resembled the little sugar pearls, only smaller. Much smaller.
As we walked, the wind blew lots of the little balls on all of us. It was quite weird.
Of course, the balls would vanish as quickly as they appeared, so there was no getting wet. Sadly, the weather meant there weren’t many people in town.
This always concerns me. I keep wondering how the small businesses survive when so few people are around.
To be fair, there were a few other dog walkers but they’re not the ones supporting all the cafés, shops and restaurants. Though I did pop into Visthuset for the usual latte. And there were some other people upstairs, which may explain why the staff were so happy.
The rest of the town had sprinklings of what looked like visitors but, as I said, I think the weather was keeping people at home. Hopefully, things improved later in the day. Though the weather certainly didn’t. I’m thinking the few days of bright sunshine and temperatures in the early teens were figments of my imagination.
Speaking of imagination, does this sticker represent Wim Jonk, the Dutch footballer?
The sticker was on the side of a bin and, I assume, represents someone selling drugs. While there’s obviously a lot of sites about Wim Jonk, I haven’t been able to find anything about him being accused of drug taking. A reverse image search brings up zero results.
Maybe Jonk means Junk and is simply referring to the shady sale of drugs round by the bins. The character has a skull tattoo on his throat which indicates he’s a bit on the criminal side.
It would be nice if someone could let me know.
