Following my usual shop at the Coop and Mirinda’s walk with the dogs, today we returned to Trosa. This time we were actually seeing inside two houses. Because we couldn’t make the open house days, Mirinda arranged for the real estate agents to take us round.
We figured we’d be gone a long time, so opted to take the girls with us. While they didn’t realise that staying in the house would have meant six hours shut inside the sitting room, they were more than glad to be on the back seat. Actually, they slept most of both ways.
As Mirinda said, the above photo would have been an ideal BeReal but, as usual, BeReal missed the best bits of the day and didn’t happen until I was just about to go to bed. As Luke almost said a few days ago, “BeReal always chooses the dullest parts of anyone’s day.” It’s a very clever algorithm.
And our day wasn’t dull. Particularly when it came to viewing, what has become known as The Pink House.
We first had a street side look at it on January 16 and liked it from the outside, but this was an opportunity to get inside. But, first of all, we had a walk by of another house (The Red House) which was just over the river and beside the church.
The Red House looked excellent from the photographs and it had the advantage of separate guest accommodation. It was on a big block with its own ‘mountain’ out front (Swedes call big outcrops of rocks, mountains). It looked perfect. Sadly, the road outside made it less than appealing.
While we stood on the footpath, about ten cars drove by making an awful noise and belching out disgusting pollution. The time was about 14:30 so not the busiest time of day. Trosa is very popular in the warmer months so we figured it would be even worse at the height of the season when we’d want to be outside in the garden. No, The Red House was very quickly expunged from our consideration. Mirinda wrote to the real estate agent and cancelled our viewing.
That left The Pink House.
We parked outside the house, leaving the girls in Max. We had to leave him unlocked because the girls set the alarm off if he’s locked. We figured it was a good test of the street if Max was still there when we returned.
From the moment we walked in, we were delighted. The vestibule was very welcoming, the bedrooms were big, the living area comfy and, most important, the kitchen was very good. The garden, while not huge, was a very manageable size. We both liked The Pink House very much. It went from the possible to the contender list on the drive home.
A very successful trip to Trosa.
