Poor Rodney had to go in and have a cancerous growth removed today. Neighbour Dave and Gail took him in this morning and returned without him. I assume he’s staying in overnight. Emma had no-one to talk to last night. At the time of writing, I haven’t heard how the operation went. I hope he’s okay.
In other dog news, Freya’s latest season has run its course and she’s now free to roam the countryside again. Of course, before that happened, she had to have her trouser area completely washed and dried. This is to prevent any unwanted attention from well smelling dogs.
Of course, she hated it. And not just because of the indignity.
She isn’t that keen on getting wet. It’s not just when a bath is required. She doesn’t like rain or swimming either. She really is a comfort dog.
Mind you, when it came time to go for a walk at Farnham Heath, she was completely ready and raring to go. Her freedom has been curtailed for a couple of weeks so her enthusiasm was understandable.
After the excitement of the birthday weekend, Mirinda decided not to go into work today, preferring to work from home in between bouts of gardening.
The garden is looking very bright and colourful at the moment, particularly with all the tulips coming up and replacing the dying daffs. And not just in the garden. This bunch in a pot is very cheering.
Mirinda isn’t happy with the garden – too high maintenance – but I reckon it looks great.
