Good friends and generosity

There was a lot of noise out at WoopWoop tonight as a riotous game of Hitser was played and won by the team I wasn’t on. It could easily have kept going had my fellow team member, KSP not declared that the game would end after we managed to win 20 cards. It took a while but we eventually reached this seemingly impossible target. Of course, Jonas and Mirinda, our opposition, had about 120 cards in front of them.

Jonas, Mirinda and the ghost at the window is KSP

We weren’t at Woop Woop just to play Hitser; that happened almost organically as a sort of digestive following a delicious Sunday night dinner of two types of cod. ‘Two types’ because, they explained, they couldn’t decide whether to make the Parmesan or bacon version so, instead, they made both.

And they were both delicious. Not forgetting the bruschetta to start and apple pie and ice cream to finish. We were very spoiled.

It was, in fact, a delightful night all round. It was the happy, very generous full stop on quite the miserable week. The cheer was needed; the fun addictive.

The day prior to this was spent, basically, doing housework. There was a bit of time when I took Emma up Mount Trosa to give her a bit of a run and stick chasing. Actually, it was a bit of pine cone chasing because she couldn’t find a stick.

And she surprised me yet again with her knowledge of the mountain tracks across the summit. I can only imagine that Mathilde takes her down different routes every Monday on their walks, because Emma knows ways I’ve never taken her.

She heads off confidently, stopping every little while to make sure I’m still following. It’s like she has a doggy satnav. And she gets us home safely, though she doesn’t understand that sometimes I need a bit of a break and a short sit on a rock.

Not that one though. I just thought it looked interesting enough to photograph while I sat on one opposite.

Oh, almost forgot, thank you KSP for the lift there and back. Mirinda thoroughly enjoyed having a gin…or three.
