More of the same?

I was cornered by Marcus this morning, as I headed for the ICA. We have some interesting chats that last a bit too long. Standing still makes my knees ache but it’s more than that. He doesn’t really do small talk so our chats become long discussions about the world and what is wrong with it. I should say that I don’t mind the talk but my knees are not very keen.

The other annoying thing about these encounters is that they make me late for shopping. That might seem somewhat unimportant (it makes Mirinda laugh) but I am a bit of a sucker for routine and like the way I have managed to discover the optimum time to arrive in order to sit in the best spot in the buffet for my latte followed by a general lack of customers making the journey through the shop the most enjoyable.

A simple pleasure it may be but one that makes a necessary chore a joyful experience. No rush, no crowds, happy staff. It works for me and makes my mornings so much more pleasant.

Today, though, it was not so much. It took me longer for one thing. Still, I shouldn’t really concentrate on the small inconveniences of my day.

Given the glorious weather, I took the girls up Mount Trosa after (their) lunch while Mirinda had a midday Swedish class then a very long video chat with Amanda.

Well, actually, I attempted to take both of them. Freya disagreed with the plan and, while she happily walked from the blue gate up to the track was then steadfast in her desire to return to the house, foregoing the rest of the walk.

Emma was a bit confused when we started back down the little track but soon perked up when we returned to the main track shortly after depositing Freya on the deck, and continued on our journey.

At the summit, I noticed that the formwork had been removed from the concrete structures, giving a big hint as to what they might be for.

Comparing the four pillars to how the current telecommunication mast is supported, it looks like it is going to be more of the same.

Goodness knows why.
