I woke up this morning wondering why I hadn’t been to Tre Små Rum this year. During summers past, I almost took up permanent residence. In particular, I partook of the best scrambled eggs in the universe, both known and unknown. Of course, once my taste buds had been activated, it was time to let Mirinda know that we should go. Of course, she agreed, after all, she loves the scrambled eggs as well.
It was a bit of an effort for poor little Freya given how much she hates walking on gravel, but we eventually reached an outside table and settled down for brunch.

The weather had decided to celebrate our attendance by being pretty close to summer perfect. Not too hot, slight breezes and, most importantly, no rain.
Contrary to the photo above, there were a fair few other people scattered around, enjoying food and fellowship.
Emma was pretty much admired by everyone while Freya was asleep on my lap. It was total delight until the fateful announcement came with Mirinda’s return from ordering inside. They were no longer offering the glorious scrambled eggs. This was devastating. It took my mind a while to comprehend what my wife was saying.
Were we too late and had missed out on the last serving? Had someone dropped the last of the eggs on the floor? Had the eggs gone off? No, she repeated, they no longer listed them as an option.
She had ordered eggs royale and Benedict instead. That’s one of each not both together. Obviously, they were very good but even they could not dispel my disappointment.
Afterwards, we wandered up to the centrum, Freya, as if she understood my great sadness, walked slower with every step she shakingly took. It was decided that we needed ice cream to help dispel our upset.
There was a tick bus conveniently parked outside the Trosa Gelato place so Mirinda went and had her final (for three years) vaccine before heading into the shop for melon (for her) and coconut (for me) ice cream cones.

Fortunately, the ice cream did the trick, and we headed home a lot happier than we had been. This was fortunate because Mirinda had an appointment to give a short acting class at a Friskis&Svettis party at Nicoline’s place in the afternoon. And they are never very good if you are miserable.
This just proves that disappointment is much better when it occurs in the morning. It gives you time to get over it.
