Lately, I have been indulging in a latte at the ICA Bistro. I go in before shopping and, generally, enjoy a break with my book. There are usually the same customers there, though none greet me, which is oddly unSwedish, given my experience thus far. Well, to be completely honest there is one chap who seems to greet everyone he sees.
Anyway, generally I arrive at the counter and someone from the kitchen notices me and comes straight out. Not so this morning.
There was a woman in the kitchen but she was alone and seemed particularly occupied with something in the fridge. She then moved to behind the wall. I looked around for the bell that is normally on the counter but it had gone. It made me wonder whether the staff had removed it because little kids kept ringing it for no reason other than to annoy.
The upshot was, I wasn’t served. I guess I could have given an uncouth and vexing “HEJ!” but I decided not to and went about my shopping. Instead of the latte, I decided to pop into the cemetery and visit with Inge. It’s been a while but, I’m happy to say, she hasn’t changed a bit.
But that was all in the morning. By late in the afternoon and as evening rolled around, we prepared to take The Bob out.
Most of the day had been windy with occasional spats of rain but, come 8pm, all was calm and the Baltic was calling us to join it for the sunset.

The night was beautiful and there wasn’t a lot of traffic. We saw two other boats all the time we were out. It was blissful. We do love having a boat. Particularly one with a working engine.
PS: When I shared yesterday’s post to Facebook, I spotted a couple of posts by my sister, Denise. She was looking back at some old videos and decided that everyone she has friended would like to watch and listen as well. There was one of her singing and one of dad. They both made me all a bit teary. Beautiful voices, both of them.
It inspired me to sing while cooking tonight’s Sunday roast. That was possibly teary for other reasons. Sorry, Louise.
