A major disappointment

It would appear that Stefan has stopped walking to the ICA every morning and has returned to riding his noisy, smelly moped through the woods. I wondered why I hadn’t seen him returning with his breakfast since his three-week trip to Spain back in May. Well, now I know. And I am greatly disappointed.

It was as I approached the entrance to the woods this morning that I heard the unmistakable noise of his awful bike. It grew louder, then suddenly he emerged on the path reserved for pedestrians and bicycles.

He has now stopped being Stefan, the Running Man and has once more become my Nemesis.

That annoyance aside, today was bright and beautiful, albeit far too hot for poor Gary. According to the thermometer in the glassroom, just after 16:00, the temperature reached a staggering 28°.

Okay, as I discussed with Mirinda late in the day, 28° was not that hot when we were growing up in Oz. But, I have to say, it’s too bloody hot for me now. And I cut the grass in it, which was far from pleasant. I am only thankful that the battery for the mower runs out so I get to take a break between sweaty cuts.

I think this reptilian creature was also quite happy when I stopped after I uncovered it.

Despite the sun, our usual walk up the ski slope was pleasant, given the cool breeze. Not that the heat overly bothers the girls. A walk trumps everything. Well, when Freya is up to it, anyway.

And today she certainly was up to it given it was a pill day. Which was a good thing because she had a bit of an adventure tonight. The three of us accompanied Nicoline to Mats Studio for dinner.

I was a bit concerned that they wouldn’t be open it being a Monday but, not only was it open, it was heaving. Almost every outside table was filled with laughing, chatting and happy people. It was lovely to see. And hear.

I had my usual, which was most enjoyable, as I have come to expect from my favourite Trosa restaurant.

And we chatted away about this, that and the other right up until Nicoline yawned and we headed home. An excellent night out.

In not so pleasant news, Sam Neill died today. He was 78. I’m sure that KSP will be greatly saddened by this news, given she watches him in Ivanhoe every New Year’s Day.
