Freya continues to improve in very small steps. Today we returned to the vet who was, obviously, pleased with her progress, saying we should continue with the full course of the antibiotics to help her fight whatever nasty bacteria is keeping her strength at bay.
We also learned something new today regarding Freya’s body and how it fights. Apparently that’s why she shivers so much. Sometimes it’s because she’s just cold (she has shivered all her life when there’s even the hint of a chill in the air) but other times, most notably at the moment, it is the body’s way of heating up and destroying the fever raging inside her.
There is some interesting information on The Institute for Environmental Research and Education website, though I do wonder why they went to the trouble of starting every single word on their site with a capital letter. Apart from making the site look bad, I can’t see why you’d bother doing it.
Weird writing aside, the information is good. I think. To be fair, AI didn’t tell me that so there’s no guarantee.
Speaking of weird stuff, a while back I wrote about how America was pinging the blog every day, sending my stats super high. Well, the stalking has continued for quite a while but I just haven’t bothered mentioning it any more given it increases my sites search status and, like, who really cares?
However, the last few days, my American views have shrunk almost out of sight and China has stepped up to the plate. Okay, there are not nearly as many Chinese hits as there have been American but, I figure, maybe they just have to get going.
I have had strange issues with China and this blog before so I’m not surprised. Just curious as to why.
Anyway, back here in the real world, the news about Freya was all pretty good and she had a new spring in her step as we headed back to the house.
Incidentally, while she was in with the vet, Emma and I sat outside under the shade of a very handy tree where I read the news that the British PM, Keir Starmer had resigned. He actually got quite emotional, not something he normally does. Mirinda felt sorry for him whereas I think he was just a Tory dressed in red.
And, speaking of colour, the world around us was all a bit purple today.
And the bees and other buzzy insects, were loving it.
Nicoline can stop reading now
Mirinda and Nicoline went to zumba this evening and I found myself with little to do but turn the TV on and watch the first half of the Argentina v Austria game. And, while it was a shame I didn’t get to see the second half, it was also a relief.
I have rarely seen a duller game made exciting by the amount of big babies falling over at the barest breath beside them. I wonder at the intelligence of these so-called professionals. Have they not seen how good TV coverage is these days? Do they not realise that they are captured at lots of angles which clearly show they are acting, trying to force free kicks and yellow cards?
Argentina is the World Cup champion team, which makes me wonder why they don’t appear able to keep upright for very long. Mind you, at least their healing power is almost instant.
Austria appeared to have been infected by the cheating germ as well tonight. At one stage, a player fell over and ended up missing the first Messi goal. That’ll learn him…or maybe not. Sometimes cheats do not prosper.
Speaking of Messi, he scored twice in the game (this followed a hat trick in his first game) making him the highest scorer in World Cup history. His tally is now 18. Not bad for a 38 almost 39-year-old.
