Cleaning up the MAGA mess

At the beginning of the week, the resurfacing situation on the road to the adventure park had reached a point where the holes from last week had been filled. I say ‘holes’ but they were more like scrapes, left over from the removal of the old asphalt.

I took the photo above on Tuesday, and it shows the filled in patches from last week. I haven’t seen anyone doing any actual work yet, though when we drove to the vet yesterday, I did spot a few vehicles sitting idly on the road.

Clearly I go too early for the road people. All I see is the results of their labours.

Speaking of labours, Freya continues to improve. She is eating properly and, today, I took her for a walk in the woods rather than down the track to the ski slope and back. After returning she didn’t just collapse in a heap and, in fact, when Mirinda started getting ready to take Emma for a long, decent walk, Freya started her quokka dance, something that has been absent from her life for a few months.

Anyway, the walk in the woods also made a nice change for me. While I’m happy to take Freya for a separate walk to Emma, walking the same bit of track every day, it can get a little dull after a while. I do prefer a bit of a change now and then.

Which brings me back to the road to the adventure park.

Today, the resurfacing appears to have been completed. Mind you, the edges still need some work. On the way back from the ICA, I noticed that a lot of the asphalt had started to melt a bit. And, of course, the pedestrian crossing has to be repainted.

And, because I keep discussing the food I make each day, for tonight’s dinner I made Geraldine’s chicken breast with tarragon, mushrooms and cream. It was lush.

Finally…This made me laugh. I spotted it on Reddit and just had to steal it.

But where is the Making America Gleam Again slogan? Someone missed a trick there.
